PM. Russell Mmiso Dlamini holds strategic trade talks with Taiwan Packing Association in Taipei.

MBABANE: Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini held strategic strategic trade talks with representatives of the Taiwan Packaging Association in Taipei, where discussions centred on potential collaboration in investment, partnerships and skills transfer aimed at strengthening Eswatini’s manufacturing sector.
As reported by Government online platforms, during the engagement, the Prime Minister highlighted that Eswatini currently imports the majority of its packaging materials, stressing that establishing a world-class packaging industry within the country would stimulate economic activity, create jobs and support industrial growth. He outlined the country’s growing demand for packaging across key export sectors, including sugar, citrus, vegetables, coffee and other agricultural products, noting that local packaging capacity would strengthen value chains and enhance the competitiveness of Eswatini’s exports.
“The Prime Minister also shared Eswatini’s agenda for exponential economic growth through industrialisation, anchored by the forthcoming Taiwan Innovation Industrial Hub at Phocweni. He explained that the industrial hub is being developed to provide Taiwanese investors with a strategic base from which to manufacture and access Africa’s market of more than 1.4 billion consumers under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)”, reads the Government online report in part
It has been reported that, Chairman of the Taiwan Packaging Association Biao Kuo, who also serves as General Manager of JEW FENG MACHINERY Co. Ltd welcomed the opportunity to engage with Eswatini and expressed the Association’s interest in exploring investment opportunities in the Kingdom.
